All of our rebuilt converters undergo a stringent rebuilding process, conduct at our workshop by our specialized staff.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Converters are opened on our specialized lathe and disassembled and inspected for wear or damage. Damaged internal parts are replaced or repaired (were necessary) as well as all new bearings and thrusts washers replaced with new. Before all components undergo the rebuild process, they are subjected to a rigorous cleaning process to eliminate any dirt, oil and foreign particles that may reside with these components.</strong></p>
<p><strong>In the case of lock up torque converters, where a lock up clutch is present, this under goes a full strip down and re bonding with new lining (Kevlar, Ceramic or Carbon Fibre) to ensure proper adhesion as per OEM specifications.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Our workshop facility also allows us to modify components during the rebuilding process to ensure a better than OEM converter in most cases. Some OEM factory torque converters are prone to failure, under normal operating conditions within the vehicle. TCT performs upgrades on these OEM converters during our normal rebuild process, to ensure that these common failures do not reoccur. These modifications vary depending on converter make and model, ranging from bearing modifications, machining bases, stators, impellers, turbines etc. Our experienced engineers along side TCT’s large national customer base, ensures accurate feedback from the results of our Research and Development, making TCT Australia’s leading Automotive Torque Converter rebuilders.</strong></p>

<p><strong>As well as the normal reconditioning process, all converters are disassembled and all components are inspected and assessed. Converters are then machine washed and reassembled by our experienced tradesman. All converters are rebuilt by hand using quality components with parts that are equal or better than OEM specifications. Converters are then finished to OEM height specifications and balanced on our Stewart Warner and TCRS balancing machines.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: x-large;"><span style="color: #000080;">Upgrading of componentry</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Needle Roller Bearings (High Load Rating)</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Most standard factory manufactured converters are fitted with thrust washers as a mating surface to control the clearance between the internal components. With high load applications, these washers will wear or break therefore causing converter failure. TCTConverters are built using roller bearings that generate lower friction therefore reducing heat. These types are designed to withstand the load generated by industrial and commercial use.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;"><span style="font-size: large;">Ball Bearing (High Load Rating)</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong>These bearings are a C3 type, which can withstand extreme high load ratings most suited to industrial and commercial use.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Pump Drives</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Higher quality pump drives with a higher &#8220;Rockwell rating&#8221; fitted to all industrial and commercial converters as part of our reconditioning process.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Sprag Assembly</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong>All assemblies are upgraded where most converters of this type have common problems. TCT re fabricates the inner and outer race assemblies to enable higher efficiency outputs, producing higher torque multiplication best suited to heavy commercial and industrial applications.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Brazing</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong>The impeller and turbine vanes are brazed along their entire length and throughout their securing point(s). Without the added strength of brazing, these vanes would rapidly fall apart under the heavy load placed on them through commercial applications. By brazing the impeller and turbine vanes, the transmission fluid flows more effectively inside the converter increasing the converter efficiency.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: x-large;"><span style="color: #000080;">Modification and Re-Fabrication</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Torque Converter Modification</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Quite often machinery under high torque or extreme load specifications, require more modifications to the converter in order to perform to levels not intended when original fitted as per OEM. Such modifications are carried out by TCT on industrial and commercial converters to withstand these extreme loads and requirements. Components are made in house, on our specialised machinery and modified to our specifications.</strong></p>
